# Connect an iPhone, iPad or Mac

1. Make sure the PC running AeroCast and your Apple device are on the same Wi-Fi network.
2. On an iPhone or iPad, open **Control Center** and tap **Screen Mirroring**. On a Mac, click the **Control Center** icon in the menu bar, then **Screen Mirroring**.
3. Choose the entry named after your PC, ending in **(AeroCast)**.
4. If you set a PIN in AeroCast, enter it when your device asks for a password.

Sound plays on the PC. To stop, tap **Screen Mirroring** again and choose **Stop Mirroring**.

## If the PC does not appear

- Both devices must be on the same network. See [Troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting).
- Check that AeroCast is running and that AirPlay is switched on in **Settings, Network and Security**.
- A VPN on the PC can confuse address selection. Turn it off to test.

AeroCast implements AirPlay mirroring on its own and is not licensed by Apple. A future iOS update could change how AirPlay works; we fix such problems on a best-effort basis.
