Questions
Which devices can I mirror to AeroCast?
iPhone, iPad and Mac through AirPlay Screen Mirroring, Android phones through Cast or Smart View (Miracast), and other Windows PCs through Win + K (Miracast).
Can I cast from Chrome or Android apps using Google Cast?
No. Apps that use Google Cast only accept devices certified by Google, so they cannot send to AeroCast. Use your Android phone’s Cast or Smart View (Miracast) instead. AeroCast can send to Chromecast devices.
Does AeroCast need an internet connection?
Mirroring works entirely on your local network and the free plan needs no account. Paid plans check in with our server in the background about once a day and keep working for up to seven days offline.
Why does Android and Windows mirroring need the Wireless Display feature?
Those senders use Miracast, and AeroCast uses the Miracast receiver that is built into Windows as the optional Wireless Display feature. AeroCast offers to install it for you the first time it runs.
Does my screen go through your servers?
No. Pictures and sound go directly between your devices on your own network. We never receive your screen content.
How many PCs can I use one licence on?
Two. You can remove a PC from your account page at any time to free its place.
What happens if my subscription ends?
AeroCast keeps working on the Free plan. The paid features turn off at the end of the period you paid for. Your recordings are never touched.
Is AeroCast affiliated with Apple, Google or Microsoft?
No. AirPlay, Google Cast, Chromecast, Miracast and Windows are trademarks of their owners. AeroCast works with them using its own implementation and is not endorsed by them.
